Power BI Platform Operations L3

  • Have hands-on experience resolving Power BI platform issues themselves, without escalation
  • Can troubleshoot issues end-to-end (e.g. refresh failures, gateway issues, performance problems)
  • Understand how the platform works under the hood (capacity, gateways, datasets, service behaviour)
  • Make platform-level changes and fixes (not just managing access or routing tickets)
  • This is not a user support or access management role. We need someone who can step in immediately and take ownership of the platform in a production environment.
  • This is a platform operations role, and we are currently looking to address an immediate skills gap within the team. As such, we need candidates with proven, hands-on experience operating a BI platform in a production environment, rather than adjacent or transferable experience.
  • Managing Power BI Service / Fabric environments, including: Gateways, Permissions and access, Platform upgrades, Capacity management
  • Owning platform health and performance
  • Supporting production environments at scale
  • Investigating and resolving platform-level incidents end-to-end
  • Step into platform operations immediately
  • Handle incidents without ramp-up
  • Support tenants and users without requiring ongoing guidance
  • The candidates reviewed so far have strong analytics and BI delivery experience, however:
  • They are not operating as platform engineers in their current or previous roles
  • They have not been responsible for core administrative areas such as capacity management, gateway troubleshooting, or tenant-level configuration
  • Their experience appears to be working alongside platform teams rather than owning platform operations
